FROM ME, ABOUT ME

How confusing it is to sit here and write a text about myself. I don't think I'm the first person, apart from the financially rewarded, who has had texts written about them, that struggles to find the right words in such a situation. I think, the best way to get to know me is through my works and their diversity. Nevertheless, my interests and the associated design are subject to constant change and are characterised by an interest in shapes of all sorts. 

 

An original street art focus on graffiti has changed into a line-heavy, graphic drawing style. This changed partly to an abstract, surface approach. These purely visual forms of realisation, paired with graphic design skills, led to the creation of (video) games during my bachelor's degree. In addition to the massive appreciation for the playful form of interaction, this opened my eyes to the overall conception of works and not just their visual finalisation.

 

My current interests are primarily in the reciprocal interplay between conception and creation: the pure possibility of an exchange of form in terms of content, based on reception, creation and the artist. 

 

In my future master's degree at the Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam, I will investigate the issues, relations and spaces (analogue, digital, social...) in which this takes place.
